Koshari (Egypt)

Koshari is Egypt’s ultimate comfort food — a carb-lover’s dream with lentils, pasta, rice, and tangy tomato sauce.

Recipe:
Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice

  • 1 cup lentils

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni

  • 2 onions, sliced and fried

  • Tomato sauce: 3 blended tomatoes, garlic, vinegar, chili, salt

Instructions:

  1. Cook rice, lentils, and pasta separately.

  2. Sauté garlic in oil, add tomatoes, vinegar, chili. Simmer into a sauce.

  3. Layer rice, lentils, and pasta on a plate. Top with tomato sauce and crispy onions.
