This ancient Egyptian dish is a breakfast staple made from fava beans, slow-cooked until creamy and delicious.

Recipe:
Ingredients:

  • 2 cups cooked fava beans

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • Juice of 1 lemon

  • Salt, cumin

  • Optional toppings: chopped onions, parsley, boiled egg

Instructions:

  1. Heat beans with a little water in a pot.

  2. Add garlic, cumin, and salt. Simmer gently.

  3. Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice.

  4. Serve warm with flatbread and toppings.
